{Photo} EFCC Arrests Man Who Tried To Steal N68Bn From Banks In Nigeria

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arraigned a man for allegedly hacking into a second generation bank and stealing N68,028,000,000, has been charged to court.

 

The accused, Stephen Omaidu, was arraigned before Justice M. A. Nasir of Federal Capital Territory (FCT) High Court sitting in Jabi, Abuja on a two count charge bordering on theft to the tune of N68,028,000,000, on Monday. The accused, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges.

A survey carried out on the bureau’s website, disclosed the Nigerian states that have over 70% poverty rate.

According to research, Sokoto State remained the poorest state in Nigeria at the end of 2012, with a National Bureau Statistics, of 81.2% poverty rate.

Nigerian Born American Rapper, Wale Planning To Relocate To Nigeria

While some Nigerians are checking out of the country due to the fear of violent elections and many otheer situations, Nigerian Born American Rapper, Wale is planning on coming back to his motherland.

The Maybach Music Group superstar announced the news on his twitter page yesterday that he’s moving to Nigeria. Wale was born in Northwest, Washington, D.C. on September 21, 1984. His parents are of the Yoruba ethnic group of southwestern Nigeria and moved to the United States from Austria in 1979.

Nigeria Will Dismantle Boko Haram in 6 Weeks - Col Sambo Dasuki

Nigeria has vowed to crush Boko haram just in time for the elections. Speaking to AFP on Monday the National Security Adviser, Col Sambo Dasuki assured that “all known Boko Haram camps will be taken out” by the time of the rescheduled vote which is March 28 for presidential poll.


“They won’t be there. They will be dismantled,” he told AFP when asked what gains could be made against the Islamists before the new polling date.

US Based Nigerian Couple From Texas Shot Dead After Arriving In Nigeria

A  couple based in Texas, USA, Mr and Mrs Don and Nkem Okoro who were in Nigeria for vacation and to attend a burial of a relation, have been killed by unknown armed robbers who tried to rob them along Benin-Onitsha high way on their way to the village to attend a burial.



 Their two-year old niece was also in the car with them, and sadly, they were all killed. Another report also says, they were trying to run from the robbery attack which made them have a ghastly accident in which they all died.

{SAD STORY} Sudan Ambassador To Nigeria Dies In Abuja Office Today

The Sudanese ambassador to Nigeria, Dr Tagelsir Ali, has died. The Media Advisor to the Sudanese embassy in Nigeria, Mr Mohammed Abdulrahman, who confirmed his death told the News Agency of Nigeria, NAN, that Dr Ali died in the early hours of today October 24th at the National Hospital, Abuja where he was being treated from malaria.

    “He had malaria. There were some complications and he passed away around 1 a.m. early this morning. There is a Presidential jet coming by 5 p.m. to take the remains to Sudan for burial. He was 66 years old. He loved working in Nigeria and had zeal to develop the bilateral relationship between Sudan and Nigeria and was able to stretch himself very well,” Abdulrahman said. May his soul rest in peace Amen

President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan welcomes today’s declaration by the World Health Organisation (WHO) that Nigeria is now officially Ebola-free after 42 days without any incidence of the Ebola Virus Disease.

President Jonathan dedicates the certification to the many patriotic health workers, volunteers and ordinary Nigerians who worked tirelessly, some of them paying the ultimate price, to stop the deadly virus in its track after it entered the country in July this year.

{BREAKING NEWS} Boko Haram Beheads Nigeria Pilot

A new Boko Haram video shows the beheading of a man identified as the pilot of a missing Nigerian Air Force jet and burnt out parts of a plane - the first indication that Nigeria's homegrown Islamic extremist group has the capability to bring down aircraft.



It also allegedly features Boko Haram leader Abubakar Shekau, a man Nigeria's military twice has claimed to kill in 2009 and again last year. Two weeks ago the military said they had killed in battle a Shekau lookalike who had posed in the group's videos.
