Allow our girls wear hijab to school - Islamic Leaders beg Ambode

The Conference of Islamic Organisations, CIO, has made a passionate plea to Governor Akinwunmi Ambode of Lagos state to allow Muslim girls wear hijab to schools.



This comes after the former Governor of Lagos, Babatunde Fashola had banned the use of hijab in all Lagos public schools, forcing the muslim community to sue the state government over the issue.

They were high-school sweethearts determined to make their long-distance relationship work. Clayton Whittemore had made the journey to see his beautiful girlfriend Alexandra Kogut at the college where she’d recently started studying.
 
 
She couldn’t wait to see him and he’d travelled over a hundred miles to be with her, but instead of a romantic reunion, Alexandra, 18, would end up dead, brutally beaten to death with a hair curling iron.

Mrs. Juliana Godwin, a 42-year-old Junior Secondary School I (JSSI) student of Junior Secondary School, Gosa, Abuja, has become one of those persons with strong will to change her condition.

 Mrs. Godwin, who hails from Riyom in Riyom Local Government Area of Plateau State, had her education stalled by lack of sponsorship, a situation that made her to drop out, in 1983, of LEA Primary School, Riyom.

{Photo} Explosion at School Assembly in a Secondary School in Yobe

An explosion ripped through a school in northeast Nigeria on Monday, as students gathered for morning assembly before classes began, a teacher and a medic told us. The blast happened at the Government Comprehensive Senior Science Secondary School in Potiskum, Yobe state, as students waited to hear the principal’s daily address.

The students had gathered for the morning assembly when something exploded in their midst with a thunderous sound at exactly 7:50 am (0650 GMT),” said one teacher, who asked not to be identified.

Segun Adepegba, who visited Solid Rock Model College ,Ogun where he abandoned his kids for eight years, was locked in a tight embrace with them, promising never to leave them again.

When he arrived, an angry mob was prevented from attacking him when they learnt he was the father of the “abandoned children.”

"In 2007, my wife and I had a misunderstanding and she told me she was leaving me. I was frustrated and the children were little. Seyi, the youngest was just two years while Titilola was just five.

Academic and administrative activities at the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) literally stood still on Tuesday, September 30, 2014, for former President Olusegun Obasanjo. That was the day OBJ, as he is fondly called, came to Lagos, all the way from Abeokuta, Ogun State, to pick up his admission letter to study for a postgraduate degree in Christian Theology. The visit was his second to the institution in the past seven years.

The busy NOUN headquarters on Victoria lsland, Lagos, was almost deserted, as students and visitors were barred from entering the compound because of the august visitor. NOUN security personnel screened people at the gate before allowing them in while DSS operatives and policemen were on ground to provide security to the former number one citizen of the country.

{BREAKING NEWS} Abducted Nigerian Chibok School Girls Released

An unclear number of the Chibok girls kidnapped by the extremist Boko Haram sect in April have been released, officials said.

A top military source said two Toyota Hiace buses loaded with the girls were driven into the Maimalari Barracks in Maiduguri this evening.
