Pope Francis hails The Bravery Of Nigerian Priests Over Boko Haram

Pope Francis has hailed the bravery of Nigerian priests who have stood strong in the face of Boko Haram violence and worked to build bridges with the Muslim community.



The pontiff in an open letter said, "How can we fail to remember the priests, religious men and women, missionaries and catechists (lay teachers) who, despite untold sacrifices, never abandoned their flock, but remained at their service."

President Jonathan Finally Visit Boko Haram Headquarters In Maiduguri

President Goodluck Jonathan arrived in Maidugiri, the Borno State capital. His plane landed at about 3.45pm, the purpose of the visit can not be ascertain yet but aso rock insider hint that it is to campaign for a re-election and not to sympatize with the people of the state.

{Photo} Soldiers shoot selves to avoid deployment to Boko Haram communities

AS the battle to rout out Boko Haram terrorists from communities seized in Adamawa State continues, military source have disclosed that some soldiers and officers are inventing pranks to avoid deployment to the battlefield.



At the weekend, seven soldiers allegedly opened fire on different parts of their bodies and later claimed that Boko Haram terrorists shot them, but when medical examination was carried out on them, it was discovered that the shots were self-inflicted.

A new Boko Haram video shows the beheading of a man identified as the pilot of a missing Nigerian Air Force jet and burnt out parts of a plane - the first indication that Nigeria's homegrown Islamic extremist group has the capability to bring down aircraft.



It also allegedly features Boko Haram leader Abubakar Shekau, a man Nigeria's military twice has claimed to kill in 2009 and again last year. Two weeks ago the military said they had killed in battle a Shekau lookalike who had posed in the group's videos.
