Buhari Orders Disposal of Nine Presidential Aircraft to Cut Cost

President Muhammadu Buhari has directed that nine of the VIP transport aircraft under the presidential fleet should be sold. 
 
 
 
According to reports,the presidential fleet, which are registered as Nigerian Air Force aircraft, is one of the largest in Africa and the third largest in Nigeria after Arik Air and Aerocontractors.

So far with Presidential election results - APC now leading

The presidential election results for 18 states plus the FCT has so far been announced. The APC has 10 states, while PDP has 8 states plus the FCT, Abuja. It's a very tight race.



So far APC is leading with 8,520,436 votes while PDP has 6,488,210 votes.

Murtala Muhammed Foundation Hosts 2015 Presidential Election Debates

The Murtala Muhammed Foundation (MMF), in partnership with CNBC Africa, Forbes Africa and BusinessDay, will host the presidential and vice-presidential candidates of the two frontline political parties, the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to live debates to present their proposed agenda to the electorate.

The debates tagged: “2015 Presidential Election Debates,” would feature Namadi Sambo, PDP’s Vice Presidential candidate and his APC counterpart, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, SAN in the first leg of the debate, while the second leg of the debate shall feature Dr. Goodluck Jonathan, GCFR and Major General (retd) Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR, the presidential candidates of the PDP and APC respectively. The debates are slated to hold in Abuja, on February 8, 2015.

Bomb blast after Jonathan’s presidential rally in Gombe State

A blast ripped through a car park outside a stadium where  President Goodluck Jonathan had addressed a re-election campaign rally on Monday, minutes after he left, witnesses said.



Mohammed Bolari, who was at the rally in Gombe, said the explosion happened at 3:10 pm  just three minutes after Jonathan’s departure.

Presidential debate to hold Feb 3

The Newspapers Proprietors’ Association of Nigeria (NPAN) and its other partners have fixed the Presidential Debate leading up to the February 14 elections for February 3, 2015.



The debate is scheduled to take place at the Congress Hall of the Transcorp Hilton Hotel, Abuja.

INEC Publishes Names of 14 Presidential Candidates & Running Mates

The independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has published names of 14 presidential candidates for the 2015 general elections.



Details of the names were released on the Commission’s website on Tuesday, with one presidential candidate and four vice presidential candidates are females.

{POLITICS} APC Presidential primaries holds today in Lagos

The Presidential primaries of the APC will hold today at the Teslim Balogun Stadium Lagos.

 

Five aspirants including former Head of State, Gen. Mohammadu Buhari rtd, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, Governors of Kano and Imo States, Dr. Rabiu Kwankwaso and Chief Rochas Okorocha, and the publisher of Leadership Newspaper, Sam Nda-Isaiah will contest for the parties presidential ticket. Over 8000 delegates are expected to cast their votes.

A former Vice President Atiku Abubakar paid the stipulated N27.5m to pick the presidential nomination form of the All Progressives Congress on Monday. Atiku picked the form after a short ceremony at the national secretariat of the party in Abuja.

{NAWA OO} APC Presidential Aspirants To Pay N27million For Forms

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has rolled out guidelines for the 2015 general elections. The process, which begins with the sale of expression of interest forms, commences today. The party’s timetable, which was adopted at the last National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting, stipulated that collection of the forms would close on October 19, while collection of nomination forms would commence the same day and end on November 16.



Presidential election-
Those aspiring for the presidential ticket of the party are expected to pay N27 million for both forms (expression and nomination).
