Senate Gives Buhari 2 Weeks to End Fuel Scarcity

 The Senate yesterday ordered President Muhammadu Buhari who is also the Minister of Petroleum Resources, to end the fuel crisis within two weeks.
 

 
Chairman, Senate Committee on Petroleum (Downstream), Senator Uche Lilian Ekwunife (PDP, Anambra Central), gave the ultimatum during a meeting with the Ministry of Petroleum Resources at the National Assembly Complex, Abuja.

President Buhari, VP Osinbajo declares Assets

The assets of President Buhari and Vice President Yemi Osinbajo have finally been disclosed. Below is a press statement from the presidency.



“Documents submitted by President Muhammadu Buhari to the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB), show that the retired General has indeed been living an austere and Spartan lifestyle, contrary to what many might expect of a former Head of State of Nigeria and one who has held a number of top government positions, such as governor, Minister of petroleum and the head of the Petroleum Development Trust Fund (PTDF).

President Buhari to recover govt houses,cars from Jonathan's aides

The Federal Government is set to recover all property of government still in possession of officials that served in the administration of former President Goodluck Jonathan. Malam Garba Shehu, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity,confirmed the development to journalists on Sunday. He said


“That is precisely the case. Even here at the Presidential Villa, there are cars and other property belonging to the government which are yet to be returned. The property belongs to the Nigerian people.We are not trying to humiliate anyone by asking them to return their cars or houses.“But change has come.

Buhari cancels govt delegation to Hajj, to save $1m

President Mohammadu Buhari has announced that there would be no federal government delegation for this year’s hajj in Saudi Arabia.

 

This is in a move to cut costs.He however stated that the government shall play its traditional roles of providing consular, medical and security services to Nigerian pilgrims.

Buhari Orders Disposal of Nine Presidential Aircraft to Cut Cost

President Muhammadu Buhari has directed that nine of the VIP transport aircraft under the presidential fleet should be sold. 
 
 
 
According to reports,the presidential fleet, which are registered as Nigerian Air Force aircraft, is one of the largest in Africa and the third largest in Nigeria after Arik Air and Aerocontractors.

Facebook hosts 50 fake accounts of Aisha Buhari

Less than a month into the current administration, the family of President Muhammadu Buhari are already faced with online identity theft. Across different social networks, especially Facebook and Twitter, more and more accounts are signed up using the identities of Buhari’s close relatives.

For one, the wife of the President, Aisha Buhari, is associated with, at least, 50 accounts on Facebook. While the majority of the pages go with her image on their profiles, a few others are run without photographs.

Buhari been drag to court by Group, seeks to stop his May 29th inauguration

A group, Advocacy for Societal Rights Advancement and Development Initiative,   has instituted a fresh suit before the Federal High Court in Abuja seeking to stop the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Mahmud Mohammed, from swearing the President-elect, Muhammadu Buhari, on Friday.
 
 
 
The suit filed on Tuesday is also seeking an order nullifying the certificate of return issued to Buhari by the Independent National Electoral Commission.

Mrs. Alice, a mother of five,told Newsline, she vowed to Trek if Buhari won the presidential elections..She said her decision was fueled after her husband, Abdulwasiu informed her that he had a dream that President Goodluck Jonathan was going to lose the presidential election to Gen.Buhari.

Elect- President Buhari To Allocate N9BN For Furniture Allowance For His Ministers

According to a report on PUNCH, senators and members of the House of Representatives that will constitute the 8th National Assembly and ministers to be appointed by President-elect, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), will on assumption of office receive welcome perks amounting to N9bn.

The perks of office include the housing allowance which each of the incoming office holder is entitled to receive once a year, the furniture allowance which they are entitled to once in four years and motor vehicle loan which they are entitled to once in their tenure.

The media team of the president-elect, Muhammadu Buhari has stopped the  African Independent Television ( AIT) from covering his engagements until issues of ethics and standards are sorted out.

It was reported that the AIT crew was asked to leave the Defence House during the visit of the Cuban Ambassador to Nigeria to the president-elect.

President Jonathan Sets Trap For Buhari On Handing Over

The ousted administration of President Goodluck Jonathan may have deliberately set a trap to pitch the incoming government of Maj. Gen Muhammadu Buhari against Nigerians for allocating zero budget at fuel subsidy in the 2015 budget.

Buhari Declares Free Tuition In All Federal Universities & Polytechnics

Muhammadu Buhari, who was today announced the winner of the 2015 Presidential elections under the All Progressive Congress (APC), has announced free tuition in all Federal universities and polytechnic in the country.



Speaking to journalists today, the President-elect said he is declaring free education at tertiary level in appreciation of the support given to his mandate by Nigerian youths.
