Teen Murders Parents for Taking away His Ipod

Eight knives, one aluminum bat, and a crowbar. Those are the weapons a teen boy used to murder his parents, and all because they took away his iPod.

Vincent Parker, 16 will be tried as an adult for the double murders. He pleaded guilty to two counts of second-degree murder in a Virginia  court Wednesday (May 28).

The 10th grader committed the murders after school last December. He strapped on the aforementioned weapons and went after his mother first, 57-year-old Carol Parker. He pepper sprayed Carol as she was coming out of the bathroom then stabbed her multiple times before bludgeoning her to death with the crowbar and bat.

Next, Vincent went downstairs and waited for his father to get home. Wayne Parker, 55, was stabbed in the chest and back, and beaten in the face. He stayed alive for about an hour, giving him enough time to call  911 . Once paramedics arrived he told them to check on his wife first.

Carol was pronounced dead at the scene. According to an autopsy report, she sustained over two dozen wounds. Wayne died at a local hospital.

Vincent turned himself in, initially pretending that his father attacked him. He later admitted the real story, and recounted to police why he snapped.  “I just remember getting mad,” the teen admitted. “It’s all from my dad. All this stuff like my dad taking away my iPod and stuff.”

Family members can’t comprehend why the seemingly well-mannered honor student would do something so heinous. “I could not fathom that he could do anything bad like that. Vincent’s cousin Angela Barclift-McGee said. ” Especially as tight as he and his mother were.”

Vincent’s grandfather was in the courtroom Wednesday and says that he forgives his grandson. He also wants him to get help. “We had to give it to God. He is the only one who can help us now.” he said.

A psychologist has determined that Vincent is not only competent to stand trial but “very intelligent.”

He will be sentenced Sept. 18
