US coalition of Nigerian activists have reportedly returned to the Nigerian consulate based in New York to protest over the abduction of over 250 Chibok girls, Sahara Reporters says.
The female students were kidnapped by Boko Haram insurgents more than two months ago. Some of the girls managed to escape, but the majority are still being held in captivity.
Since the tragedy occurred in the town of Nigeria troubled Borno
State, international powers have joined the country to assist with the
find-and-rescue operation.
Parents received a new hope as weeks ago the military claimed they had located the girls, however the alleged discovery brought no tangible results.
Some say that with the time passing by the world is forgetting
about the Chibok tragedy, but the New York protesters’ gathering proves
the opposite.
