The industrial giants in Nigeria and their fraudulent activities, despite their exorbitant prices and insatiable customer services, they still participant in fraudulent activities like scamming their customers to get profits and increase sales of their goods with their deceitful promo.
I received a text message as a mockery to MTN earlier promo,
the message goes thus ‘’MTN DON COME AGAIN O! XMAS BUMPER, WIN A BANK AND OTHER
CONSOLATION PRICES LIKE, PRINT YOUR MONEY, AND OWN AN ATM MACHINE. TEXT “OLE”
TO 419. It is a mockery to earlier version of MTN promo that says ‘’RECHARGE
AND WIN A PLANE’’.
Come to think of it, what about ‘’ESSIEN GARRICKS’’ that was
randomly picked from a university in Port-Harcourt claiming has won a Cessna
182T Aircraft, who MTN eventually claim was given 64 million naira. MTN! MTN!!
MTN!!!
In recent development, MTN in collaboration with DON JAZZY,
came up with ‘’KAROKE WITH DON JAZZY AND WIN A PORSCHE’’ After a while, we
didn’t see or hear anything about the winner, the car, and the recording deal.
At least, it’s not up to 5years, they should still be surfacing on the news,
internet, and all media ventures for at least a minimum of 2 years or once in a
while.
Every of the winner is nowhere to be found after the
announcement of the claimed winnings on TVs and Newspapers and other media.
When we were growing up, Pepsi use to hold promos like “Drink
and qualify for Raffle Draw to win 500 thousand naira”. Till today, everyone I have
come across still doesn’t know anyone who had won the 500 thousand naira.
Recently, Pepsi in collaboration with Airtel, did a promo
‘’DRINK AND RECHARGE’’ what happens afterwards is you drinking and recharging
only to get 60secs worth of airtime. I will rather buy airtime whereby I will
have more minutes to talk than drink Pepsi and get a 60 seconds airtime.
However, the public is suffering bad services from either
our network providers or other companies. I am therefore using this media to
beg these companies to please stop deceiving your customers. If not for the
corruption in the country, frauds like this should be brought to limelight. I
am only begging for them to come out with the truth and let people see them for
who they are. The fraud is enough. The people can take it no more.
