{SAD STORY} NNPC Doctor Landed In Hospital For Ebola Virus

Nigeria has reportedly recorded another suspected case of Ebola at the disease treatment center in Lagos, western part of the country.

Nigeria's Health Minister Onyebuchi Chukwu addresses diplomatic envoys on the status of the Ebola disease control in Nigeria at the Foreign Affairs House in Abuja
According to a report published by Saharareporters moments ago, a government source informed that a medical doctor at the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) clinic in Lagos, who attended to one of the doctors that treated Patrick Sawyer, has developed Ebola symptoms.

It was gathered that the suspected victim, a woman, had previously been treated and discharged, but was later brought back into quarantine to be observed and retested.

It would be recalled that the Nigerian health ministry had announced at the weekend that four people were discharged from the Ebola treatment center in Lagos.

According to the press conference held by the Minister of Health, Onyebuchi Chukwu, the four patients have almost fully recovered.

The Minister spoke on Saturday while breaking the good news that the first Nigerian confirmed to have contracted the Ebola virus had been discharged after full recovery.

Chukwu said the patient was discharged “after conclusive discharge protocols’’, adding that she could go home to resume her normal life.

The minister however debunked reports that the discharged female doctor’s medical name was given as Dr. Adadevor. Chukwu said the number of confirmed Ebola cases had risen to 12.
Four of the cases, including the index case, Patrick Sawyer, have passed on while 189 persons are under surveillance in Lagos, and six in Enugu.

The minister added that all the persons under surveillance were secondary contacts.
