Two In Police Custody Over Kano Bombing on Sunday

Two men have been arrested in connection with a suicide bomb attack launched on Sabon Gari area of Kano city at about 9.30pm on Sunday.

According to Kano police spokesman Musa Magaji Majia, the two men were arrested by some people at a bus station in the city after they were overheard discussing the bombing.
After the people apprehended the pair, they alerted the police station in the area and they were arrested and transferred to the police headquarters.
Both men are currently in police custody.

Though it is yet to be ascertained those responsible for the explosion, some are insinuating it is politically motivated after the opposition party, All Progressives Congress (APC) won the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in local elections which held on Saturday.

Four people have already being confirmed dead in the blast while several others sustained injuries.
It is not the first time that Sabon Giri area has come under attack. Not less than 4 strong explosions rocked the area in July last year, claiming many lives.
