Google celebrates its 40th Anniversary today with Rubik's Cube on the page icon and New Addictive Doddle. Forty years ago to the day, Hungarian professor Erno Rubik created his "Hungarian Magic Cube," which he never intended to be a toy but, as Telegraph explains, "a working model to help explain three-dimensional geometry."
