{Photo} Escaped tiger from flooded Georgia zoo kills man

The tiger that escaped from a zoo after a flash flood in the Georgian capital Tbilisi over the weekend mauled a man to death on Wednesday before it was killed by police marksmen.



Scores of animals including a hippopotamus, eight lions, seven tigers, several bears and up to 20 wolves went missing from their enclosures on Sunday after heavy rain and high winds caused a river in the city to break its banks.

A 19-year-old boy, Toluchukwu Anosike who has killed his friend, Nonso Monyasa, 15, during a struggle for a seat, says he didn't mean to.

 

 

 

The incident happened on Sunday at the Abule Egba area of Lagos State,and according to Punch learnt that Toluchukwu and Monyasa were both sales apprentices on Layi Padeola Street, and had been friends for two years when the suspect came to Lagos. They were said to be fond of each other and usually ate and played together.

Cultists kills 14 year old boy for refusing to join their cult in Calabar

David Okon, 14 year old boy identified as  has been stabbed to death by members of a Cross Rivers state based cult group named Skylo after he refused to join the cult group. According to Mr Henry Fadairo, the state Police commissioner who spoke to the Sun, David was stabbed to death by one Ita in the group at T junction, Ikot Ekpo, 8 Miles in Calabar, the state capital on February 4th. 

 

 

Ita and some of his cult members had accosted David with the intent of luring him once again after they had tried for several months and his refusal caused them to stab him to death. The police investigations led to the arrest of some members of the cult group pictured above. They are Okon, 15-years old, Effiong, 18-years Etim, 18-years and Ekpo 15-years old.

21 year old popular Texas college football player Carlton Ray Champion Jr. (left) has been charged with the murder of 24yr old transgender woman, Ty Underwood ()right, who was killed on Jan. 26th.

Police first caught a break in the case when Ty's roommate, Kedrick Darks, told police Underwood had been dating a man named “Carlton” for several weeks prior to her death. Police say they interviewed Champion, who confirmed that he had been communicating via a service called “Kik” with Underwood, who was going by “Tyra” on the service.

The police in Lagos have arrested a cleric, Mr. Isiaka Akanbi, for allegedly killing a 62-year-old woman, Raliatu Kareem.The police also accused Akanbi of stealing the deceased’s wallet and other personal effects.

 

 

Punch learnt that Akanbi, popularly called Alfa, had a traditional healing centre on Lawani Street, in the Olodi Apapa area of Lagos. Kareem, who hails from Ilorin, Kwara State, had known Akanbi for about 20 years as she was a close customer of his.

{Marburg Virus} New Disease, Marburg Fever Emerges In Uganda, Kills One.

A man has died in Uganda's capital after an outbreak of Marburg, a highly infectious hemorrhagic fever similar to Ebola, authorities said on Sunday, adding that a total of 80 people who came into contact with him were quarantined.

 Marburg starts with a severe headache followed by hemorrhaging and leads to death in 80 percent or more of cases in about nine days. It is from the same family of viruses as Ebola, which has killed thousands in West Africa in recent months.
