{PHOTO} Meet the black mum who gave birth to three WHITE children

When Rosemere Fernanda de Andrade first held her newborn baby, she assumed there had been a mix-up. The doting mother and her ex-husband, Joao, are both black – but their daughter, Ruth, was born with pale, white skin, blonde hair and blue eyes.

But there was no mistake. In fact, Ruth suffers from a rare generic condition called albinism which means she has no skin pigment.

Since the birth of her first daughter, Rosemere, 31, has also had two more albino children as well as three black kids. And because of the stark difference between the mother and her white-skinned children, she is often mistaken as their nanny.

“When I am with my children I get strange looks because we look so different,” said Rosamere, from Recife, Brazil. “Once I was leaving a shopping centre with Ruth and Estefani and a security guard asked where their mother was.”

“It used to make me angry but I am learning people need educating about what albinism is,” she added.

However, her biggest worry is how albinism will affect children Ruth, 14, Estefani, 12, and Kauan, nine.

The condition is characterised by the absence of pigment in the skin, hair and eyes – which leaves sufferers exposed to a range of afflictions.

The youngsters are so sensitive to sunlight that they need factor 100 sun block applied every two hours – and are only allowed to play outdoors at night.
